University of Balochistan

The University of Balochistan جامعه بلوچستان (also known as Balochistan University), is a public university located in the downtown area of Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan.

After the dissolution of One Unit, the University of Balochistan was established in June 1970 through an ordinance issued by the then National Awami Party's (Wali Khan Group) Governor of the newly made province of Balochistan. In June 1996, the Balochistan Assembly passed the University of Balochistan Act, 1996. Thus the University of Balochistan became the sole general University of the province, imparting higher education to the entire population of the province in arts, science, commerce and humanities.

After dissolution of One Unit, the land (200 acres) along with the teaching, academic and residential structures built to house the College for Mineral Technology were handed over to the University of Balochistan.

Bolan Medical College

Bolan Medical College (Urdu: بولان طبی کالج‎) is a medical college located in Quetta, Balochistan Pakistan.

The college was established during Ataullah Mengal's reign as Chief Minister in 1972 by the then Education Minister Mir Gul Khan Nasir both were from National Awami Party(Wali group) and has graduated over 2,900 students (c. 2003). It was the recipient of a Japan International Cooperation Agency grant of 488 million yen in 1995. The new building was operational in 1996.
